FAQs

What is the difference between the Iron Lion Firm and the supporters groups across the league?

We differentiate ourselves by our mentality, standards, and philosophy that are firmly rooted in the global and Latin American 'barra brava' culture. It is a level of commitment and sacrifice defined by Orlando City Soccer Club and the Lions as being among the top priorities in our lives.

WhERE DOES the MEMBERSHIP DUES GO TOWARDS?

As an independent supporters group, we are completely self funded. Membership dues and donations assist us throughout the year through our many different events, projects, and charities. We pride ourselves on the work put into the tifos that fly, the local organizations we support, and the events we host; all of which could not be possible without the hard work and contributions from our members.

What can I do to help the cause once I sign up?

Give 100% at the games, travel with us to the away derbies, help with tifos, help promoting fundraisers, recruit new members, and contribute whatever skills and talents you have to improve the group.

CAN I BRING FRIENDS?

Of course! Every ILF member is welcome to bring in three guest per match. If you’re wanting to bring in more, please reach out to ILF Leadership 24 hours prior to tailgate. Any guest brought down will be the ILF member’s responsibility. Please ensure that they participate in the chants and respect the rules of our section.

WHERE DOES THE ILF STAND IN THE STADIUM?

A perk of being an ILF member is the exclusive access of the Recognized Supporter Group Section within The Wall. Section 25-26 rows A-G are specifically reserved for our members.

What should I wear to the matches?

We do not dictate to our members what they should wear on match day. While most ILF members and those in the supporter section wear purple, you are free to wear what you desire WITH THE STRICT EXCEPTION OF JERSEYS OF OTHER CLUBS BOTH DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN.

What if I don’t know the lyrics to the chants?

You will become familiar with the lyrics to most of the major chants by the end of the game. The chants are usually repeated long enough for most people to memorize them quickly. If you’re having trouble with some of the words, ask one of us and we’ll gladly help. If you want to prepare before your first game review our chant page!

What is expected of me during the game?

Responsibilities are simple: Chant for 90 minutes; respect the group’s code of conduct; follow directions, particularly when we are displaying tifo; be in the section at the start of the match, stay the entire game and help wave flags.

Does the group meet apart from match days?

The Iron Lion Firm is what you make of it. We have viewing parties (away OCSC matches and major international FIFA games), member only events, parties, volunteer/charity events and get-togethers throughout the year. If you only wish to chant, wave flags and be a part of the ILF during game day that is fine and we welcome you on board. The Iron Lion Firm however is a family and we have activities throughout the year.

What IS A TIFO?

Tifo is an Italian word that describes the various visual displays that supporters around the world use to inspire their teams, diss rival teams/groups, express pride, or send a message. Tifos come in many different forms like flags, message banners, card choreography, overheads, two-poles, smoke bombs, etc.

Will you stop waving the flags? I’m trying to watch the game?

No. If the flags bother you, you’re in the wrong section. Ask your ticket rep to change your tickets to another section.
